Essential information for your stay
About the farm
The farm offers guests the opportunity to explore 19 acres of farm land and relax against a stunning backdrop, whilst being located close to beaches and all the outdoor activities you would expect to enjoy from a holiday in Cornwall
Enjoying the farm
You are welcome to explore the farm and visit the animals at your leisure. During feeding times, you are also welcome to join us and meet to the animals
When exploring on your own, please adhere to the following rules to ensure your and the animal's safety
· Keep dogs under close control as it can be fatal if sheep or alpacas are chased
· Leave gates as you find them. The sheep are separated for good reason
· Be careful of electric fences, these are marked and are bright orange or white
· Wash your hands after having contact with the livestock
· Wear suitable footwear
Child safety
Children will love exploring the farm and having the opportunity to run around lots of outdoor space, however we are a working farm, albeit a small one, so children must be accompanied by an adult at all times as there are various hazards on the farm.
· We have an unfenced stream running through the bottom of the woods
· We use electric fencing in areas of the farm, it is normally marked but children are curious!
· Some of our gates and latches are heavy and fingers can get caught
· There is barbed wire used on some of the boundaries
· The barns and out buildings are out of bounds
Fire blankets
The fire blanket for the property is located in the kitchen. We suggest that you familiarise yourself with it’s location and instructions when you arrive at the cottage. Should a fire occur, if possoble close the door to the room where the fire is (as this will help delay the spread of the fire and smoke), get everyone out of the property safely and call 999 from the main house or a mobile
Fire Exits
Dutch Barn: Exit the barn from the main door downstairs or though the upstairs doors at the rear of the barn
Skyber Barn: Exit via either of the main doors downstairs
Darzona: Exit via the doors in the Bedroom or the main door downstairs

Rubbish and recycling
The waste area is by the main gate.
Recycling to the left, which is strictly cardboard, paper and non black plastic. No sweet wrappers and certainly no glass
General waste is in the right hand side bin, behind the wooden doors. Glass goes in here too and is separated by the waste company.
It was hard to get the recycling service set up and so that we can maintain this service, it's crucially important you follow the guidance of what can go in each bin. Your co-operation is much appreciated
Sanitary disposal
We are on a septic tank, so it is important that you only flush toilet paper down the toilets. Under no circumstance, should you flush any sanitary items down the toilets. Please dispose of them in the bathroom bins using the bags provided
Washing and dishwasher
The water in this area is very soft so you only need to use one tablet in each load of washing. There is also no need to add salt to the dishwasher for the same reason. When using a tumble dryer, please make sure you check the lint filter.
Internet access
Free ultra fast wireless Internet is available for guests in the cottages and is called "Pencuke farm Guest". There is no password
Noise
The farm is located in a peaceful hamlet. Whilst we welcome guests who want to celebrate a special occasion, out of respect to local residents and other guests, loud parties are not acceptable.
BBQ Terrace, games room and shop
You are welcome to make full use of the recreation field, boules court and games room during your stay. We just ask that you leave the area as you expect to find it and be considerate of other guests staying near to this area

Never leave the fire unattended or let children close. Please also use only wood and paper on the fire as it is not designed for use with coal.
For guests staying in the Dutch Barn and Penkenna Shepherds hut, we provide a complementary bag of logs, kindling and fire lighter. Additional bags of kiln dried wood can be bought from the shop (subject to availability)
For guests staying in Cambeak hut, there is a bioethanol stove. We provide bioethanol (under the sink) and more can be purchased from the honesty shop. Please read the instructions in the hut before using.

Staying for 2 weeks or more
A change of linen and towels is available after 7 nights. Please let us know if you would like this service. We can also just provide you with the linen/towels if you would prefer to do it yourself.
Dutch Barn
If you close the front door and don't have the key, you will be locked out. It's a good idea to leave the key in the key safe if you go out. We don't provide more than one key due to issues with guests losing them.
You should not have to force the bi-fold doors. If they wont open, then try turning the handle and move one set at a time.
Please don't pull on the blind cords with any force as it can cause them to break.
Skyber Barn and Darzona
You have reserved seating area on the bbq terrace. Skyber seats up to 8 and Darzona seats up 2 people. Please do not take chairs from the other cottages seating area, unless the other cottage is vacant.

North Cornwall has a wealth of beautiful beaches, each boasting the unique opportunity to do a number of different activities. One of the most popular of these is surfing. There are many beaches to choose from, each producing conditions suitable for all standards of surfing, so grab a board, and squeeze into a wetsuit. If surfing doesn't take your fancy, you will find a variety of other watersports on offer from kite-surfing and coasteering, to wind surfing and scuba diving.
There are many local surf schools, one of our favourites is
